Carlsbad 5000 is not able to refund or defer registrations, and bib transfers to another runner are not permitted. All runners must consent to the Race Waiver before purchasing their registration that states the acknowledgment of these parameters. Through our registration platform provider, Race Roster, we have partnered with RegShield to allow Ticket Protection. If you selected this option at checkout when purchasing your registration, you will have received a confirmation email with directions on how to proceed in receiving your refund in full. Please reach out to support@raceroster.com or help@regshield.com for more information.
You are welcome to transfer into a different distance. You can do so by visiting the Transfer page on Race Roster. You can also access this by visiting your Race Roster Participant Dashboard. Your original registration fee will be applied as a credit to your new registration and you will pay the difference.
Please check your email inbox as well as your spam folder for a confirmation email from Race Roster. You can confirm your registration HERE.
To view your registration details including emergency contact information, shirt size, race heat etc. you may log in to your Race Roster Participant Dashboard or email support@raceroster.com. We strongly encourage all runners to attend the Health & Fitness Expo on Saturday, April 6th, to pick up their race packet and experience all that we have to offer exclusively on Saturday. If you are not able to attend on Saturday, you may pick up your race kit on Sunday. We suggest you arrive on-site 90 minutes before the start of your race, due to long waiting lines. Packet Pickup will open at 6:00 am on Sunday, April 7th.
Yes, they need to arrive to the Health & Fitness Expo with a copy of your ID and written consent giving your friend/family member permission to receive your race items for you.
We are not holding a virtual option this year. We are not able to ship race items, (bib, medal, shirt, race kit) to any runners. All items must be received on-site at the Health & Fitness Expo on Saturday or Sunday.

Our races are split into classic USATF road race categories. The individual 5K races are split by age and gender, each with a different start time. All races are timed. In order to be eligible for overall winner or age group awards, you must run in your relevant age & gender race. You are welcome to participate in a different race or in the non-competitive People’s race.
The All Day 20K is a Carlsbad 5000 tradition where runners have an opportunity to participate in four 5K races throughout the day for a total of 20K. All Day 20K runners run in the FIRST FOUR races of the day regardless of their age or gender. Runners may also supplement the People’s Race as their fourth and final race if they skip one of the first four races. Before the first race, in between each race, and after the last race, All Day 20K runners can rest, refuel, and use the gear check, and private bathrooms that are provided to you in the All Day 20K Recovery Zone.
